Note

Connect the Printer Cable

z If you intend to use a parallel port connection for a printer already set for a USB

connection, use the printer operation panel to change the interface setting to

Centronics. (

Æ P.1-32)

z The printer cannot be connected via the parallel port and USB port or IEEE1394

port at the same time.

z The printer should be connected via any interface other than the parallel port when

printing high quality photographs or large document files.

If the computer is switched on, shut down Windows to switch the

computer off.

If the printer is on, hold down the Power button for over 2 seconds

and release it when the Online lamp starts to flash.

After the printer displays “Please Wait…” the printer goes off.

Connect one end of the cable to the parallel (Centronics) port on the

back of the printer, then lock the clips on both sides of the connector.

z The printer is equipped with a floating internal structure, so when you connect the

printer cable if the connector moves slightly this does not indicate anything

abnormal.
