When the camera is operated in remote mode each picture has to be downloaded before the
next picture can be taken. This means the maximum frame rate is determined by the AF/AE
delay plus the time to take the picture plus the time to download the picture. The time to
download the picture depends on the size of the image file (which is determined by the image
size and quality settings and the amount of detail in the scene) and the speed of the USB
interface. The speed of the USB interface varies from camera model to camera model and is
usually between 0.3Mb/sec and 0.6Mb/sec.

SX100 IS, G7, G9 and G10
These cameras have a USB 2.0 interface and can download images much faster than other
PowerShot cameras which only have USB 1.1 interfaces.
The table below shows sample timings using a Canon PowerShot S3 IS with normal AF (not
AF lock). The timings for other USB 2.0 equipped cameras are similar.
